So you’re running a swim and dive club? Or you’re at least interested in fundraising for a swim team. Well we hope this tool, and we know this tool, can help you raise money.

It’s the “Fill My Swim Cap” Fundraiser, and it’s here for you to download for free.

How A “Fill My” Fundraiser Works

First, you download and print off these swim cap sheets and  on them you’ll write your team name, what you’re raising money for, and the names of each of your swimmers or divers. Then, distribute to your team and tell them how it works.

Each part of the swim cap is broken into specific sections which represent the dollar amount donation for that space (i.e. $15 on the swim cap is a $15 donation). When donating that day, the donor will then write their name on that space to indicate that it has been filled. Share it around to your friends, family, neighbors, and each of them can pick spots on the swim cap to initial next to and try to fill the full swim cap with donations. The total amount you can raise by filling a swim cap is $490!

Your swim team members or dive team members will collect that money, and bring it back to you. After that, you can tally up everything and announce who has raised the most, how much your program raised, and importantly through your team’s media channels thank everyone who donated.

Why It Works So Well for Swim Teams

First off, “fill my” fundraisers are free. That’s something we know about well. All our fundraisers we offer are free, that’s including calendars and crowdfunding.

The next is it’s really easy to visualize and understand. It puts fundraiser participants and donors into a bucket where here’s what spots need to be filled, here’s what amount needs to be raised.

Competition though really drives these things as relatives try to outbid each other to look better. Seriously, it’s feedback we hear all the time!

Tips for a Successful Fundraiser

1. Launch Before Meet Season: Get started early to fund your travel and gear in advance. If you do it during the season it can be easily lost in the shuffle.
2. Keep Momentum Going: Post weekly updates to show progress and thank donors.‍
3. Make It a Team Challenge: Reward the first swimmer to fill their cap completely with something like a custom swim cap for example.
