Fill My Hockey Stick is a brand new fundraising format for hockey teams, clubs, and AAU organizations in which participants try to get a donation for each of 30 spaces in their hockey stick. Each donor leaves their name and fills a hockey stick space. Spaces range from $5–$100 and total to $740 per hockey stick – raising you more than enough money for tournament entry fees, travel, new uniforms, and more.

Everything you need to know about running a fill my fundraiser.
Ideal timing for a Fill My Hockey Stick fundraiser depends on which season your program runs. School programs do best in late September or October, right as the season opens and roster excitement is fresh — or during a strong playoff run when the community is rallied around the team. Club programs have a natural window in the late summer, right before the season kicks off and ice time gets booked: rosters are set, families know what the schedule looks like, and equipment costs are about to hit. That pre-season urgency is one of hockey's best fundraising windows.
Whatever the season, a 2–4 week window works best — a short, organized campaign beats a long one.
Book a demo, get your sign-up link, then create your fundraiser and add your roster — Teamfi generates a donation page for each player automatically. A full club organization with multiple age divisions sets up just as fast as a single varsity squad. A few things worth considering:
Hockey fundraising usually means a 50/50 raffle at the rink, a spaghetti dinner, or a silent auction at the booster banquet — all of them work, and all of them ask the same families to show up one more time.
This one is a hockey stick. Players watch their shape fill in with their name on it, and so do donors. That lands differently than a raffle ticket, especially for the player who dreads asking.
It runs alongside the season instead of interrupting it — no ice time sacrificed, no shifts to schedule. Launch it the week rosters are posted and it works while your team runs drills.

Simple, no-cost fundraising designed for organizations of any size.

Optional tips
How do the digital Fill My Hockey Stick donations work — can someone claim more than one space?
Yes. A donor can claim as many spaces as they want, and their name shows on each one they take (if they choose to leave their name). They can also give a custom amount outside the $5–$100 range if they'd rather. Every donation goes straight to your account through Stripe, so there's no cash to collect or checks to deposit – all hockey stick spaces and custom donations are automatically tracked in real time on your Teamfi fundraiser dashboard.
Can we run a Fill My Hockey Stick alongside our skate-a-thon, calendar, or crowdfunding fundraiser?
You can, though most families give once a season — running two at the same time often means getting half of each. Many hockey programs decide to run a Fill My Hockey Stick fundraiser in the opposite part of their calendar from other digital options like pick-a-date calendar fundraisers, skate-a-thons, or crowdfunding campaigns.
For example, if your program runs a crowdfunding campaign in the fall when the season opens and energy is high, a Fill My Hockey Stick works well in the spring — after the season wraps and families are thinking ahead to next year's ice time and tournament costs.
When should we run a Fill My Hockey Stick fundraiser?
Late October through November tends to work well — preseason, when the roster is together most days and anticipation for the season is high. Additionally, the end of a strong season or a playoff run is a good second window because community support can be at an all-time high for your hockey program.
In any case, most Fill My Hockey Stick fundraisers can find success in just a 2–4 week campaign — leaving your team with plenty of funds for new jerseys, equipment upgrades, ice time, or anything else your program needs heading into the next season.
What happens if some of the players on our hockey team don't participate?
That is no problem at all — nothing breaks. Your team's fundraiser total is just the sum of what each player raises, so there's no threshold to hit and partial participation still works. With hockey rosters typically running 15–25 players, grouping participants by line, position, or age division makes it easy to see which groups are moving and where a nudge would help.
How do out-of-town family members donate to our Fill My Hockey Stick?
This is the beauty of running a Fill My Hockey Stick fundraiser with Teamfi — it's all digital! To donate, all anyone needs to do is tap the player's link and claim a space from wherever they are. A lot of hockey's donor base is grandparents, aunts, and uncles following the season from a few states away — exactly the group a paper fundraiser or rink-side raffle table can never reach. Players can share their link by text or social in one tap. The best part? If your hockey program is using Teamfi's free automated donor outreach feature, the work is done for you!
